rates occurring in an our operating system, on cooling tower and proses system. They also provide a visual indication of the type of corrosion which may be occurring in the monitored system.

THE CORROSION COUPON
1. Is a piece of metal of predetermined shape, size and surface area
2. Is a metal of similar chemical composition to the process equipment
3. Has a uniform reproducible surface finish
4. Has a distinguishing serial number
5. Is exposed to the same corrosive medium as the process facilities
6. Is exposed for a fixed period of time
7. Gives visual indication of the type of corrosion
8. Indicates the rate of corrosion
