Description : Clove bud oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried flowerbuds of Eugenia caryophylatta.

Technical Data :

1. Appearance : A colorless or pale yellow liquid having the characteristic clove odor and taste. It darkens and thickens upon aging or exposure to air.
2. Specific Gravity ( 20° C) : 1.038 - 1.060
3. Refractive Index ( 20° C) : 1.527 - 1.535
4. Optical Rotation ( a) D : ( -1.5° ) - ( 0° )
5. Assay ( Eugenol Content) : Min. 85% ( Wet Method)
6. Solubility in 70% ethanol ( v/ v) : 1 : 2 clear

Storage Condition : Store in full, tight, light-resistant containers in a cool place, protected from light.
Shelf life : 2 ( two) years.
Packaging : In iron coated and plastic drum.
Status : Does not contain any foreign matters.
