Designed in 1956, this was the first chair by legendary designers Charles and wife Ray Eames for the high-end market, the Eames Lounge Chair represents a triumphant union of comfort, luxury and sophistication. Comprised of molded plywood shells with leather upholstery, the chair was designed to have the " warm receptive look of a well-used first baseman' s mitt" .
The Eames Lounge Chair is considered as one of the most distinguished pieces of 20th century furniture design and is part of the permanent collection of New York' s Museum of Modern Art.
