Our combined total of 15 years experience leading motorbike tours throughout Vietnam ensures we take you over the best mountain passes, through the deepest gorges and, for experienced riders, along the most challenging single track trails our country has to offer.
Weâ ll guide you off the highways and on to the many hidden tracks that criss-cross the mountain sides and weave between rice paddies. These trails are only suitable two-wheels â no bus load of tourists will be on your tail here.
Riding these trails youâ ll not only encounter mind-blowing scenery, youâ ll also meet many of Vietnamâ s 54 ethnic minority groups who still live off the land as they have done for centuries.

ADVRIDEVN is run by two long-standing biker friends, Long and Hop. Long â also known as â Dragonâ among the biking community â has taken thousands of bikers through Vietnam. Hop, whoâ s equally famous in biking circles, is particularly well known among French bikers thanks to his language skills.

We believe motorcycle touring should be a flexible and enjoyable way to see the best Vietnam can offer, and our riding style reflects this. We always have a plan, and take you only to places weâ ve been to many times, but we also allow time for serendipity and chance discovery on the road. In Vietnam itâ s sometimes best to lean back and a let patience and a â no worriesâ perspective take hold. You can find yourself invited into the countryside homes of some of the nicest people youâ ll ever meet. Sharing tea and letting your guide translate the stories and thoughts of a local family is often the kind of memory that visitors to Vietnamâ s countryside remember the most.
Every motorcycle tour has at least one tour Leader who always rides in front of the group. With groups of 6 riders or more we typically have 2 tour leaders/ mechanic. One rides in front and one is at the back of the group. Groups of 3+ also have a support vehicle following the riders, and this car can carry non-rider family members â please contact us for details.
As we are one group with the shared goal of a safe arrival at our destination, everyone is responsible for keeping an eye in the mirror to check on the motorcycle rider behind you. This is especially true at road junctions and intersections where each rider often waits briefly for the next one before making the correct turn.
A motorbike tour is not a race ( except perhaps for certain rare and special moments on quiet countryside roadsâ ¦ ) So we donâ t break the speed limit, especially on highways.
We stop every hour or two for drinks and snacks, resting in the shade, taking photos, or chatting with locals.
We typically start to ride motorcycle around 8: 30 or 9am when the morning mists have gone, we always stop for a great lunch before more riding, and the arrival of â beer oâ clockâ tends to be somewhere around 4: 30 or 5 in the afternoon as we mentally survey the dayâ s miles travelled, scenery seen, and memories made.
We always work to design an motorcycle tourâ s itinerary according to your wishes, and we are ready to accommodate those unexpected developments that may alter your plans at the last minute ( travel delays, severe weather, changing road conditions, illness) . We are flexible and always willing to discuss making needed changes to your itinerary. For example, a challenging and extra technical offroad day can be tentatively scheduled. Those with new-found riding confidence can elect to try it, while those with illness or fatigue might opt for an easier route. No worries, weâ ll make it work.
Motorbike tours can also easily be designed to include free days to give you unescorted time to completely relax on your own. Take a rest between riding days, go fishing in a mountain lake, or spend an extra day at our favourite home-stay in the quiet back country of green hills, rice fields, and camp-fire smoke.
Our offices are in Hanoi and most of our motorcycle tours start and end here ( except for Ho Chi Minh Trail tours which start or finish in Saigon) . But just let us know if you desire a route that starts/ finishes in another Vietnamese city, or if youâ ve a wild notion to retrace the Top Gear tour route, we can accommodate all wishes.
Our Hanoi office is located in the perfect place to quickly escape the noisy chaos of Hanoi. We are right under the Chuong Duong bridge, on the large riverside Yen Phu Road, and can be out of the city traffic in just 5km. Most of our customers quickly learn that city driving is not so bad and find the confidence to ride to the countryside directly from our shop door, especially since our office offers a quick escape from the city. But we can also provide car transport out of and into Hanoi upon request.
The foods of Vietnam are a fantastic highlight for most visitors to our lovely country, and weâ ll make sure you get to try an amazing array of the fresh and tasty cuisine available to us as we travel. Steaming noodles, chewy spicy ginger peanut treats, roast duck, minty spring rolls, and tropical fruits all await you, and a motorcycle is the perfect way to discover these roadside feasts.
